SUNDAY November 12
10AM - 5PM
Last day of 5 month long major exhibition featuring works from artist Nayana Rathmalgoda.
The National Museum of Wildlife Art, founded in 1987, is built into a hillside overlooking the National Elk Refuge and features work by prominent artists such as Andy Warhol, Rembrandt, and Pablo Picasso to name a few. The Museum received the designation “National Museum of Wildlife Art of the United States” by order of Congress in 2008.
Holding more than 5,000 artworks, the museum’s collection chronicles much of the history of wildlife in art from 2500 B.C.E. to the present. More than 85,000 people visit every year, and over 10,000 children visit the museum each year, often as part of their school curricula.
This 5 month long major exhibition is curated by Heather McMordie, Arts Curator at Creature Conserve and Julia Spencer, Associate Curator of Education and Outreach at the National Museum of Wildlife Art.
